CVRCD

The Coachella Valley Resource Conservation District (CVRCD) promotes the conservation and wise use of natural resources within the balanced development of the Coachella Valley and surrounding desert regions. The CVRCD is an independent, special district of local government that operates under Division 9 of the California Resources Code and works through public and private partnerships to provide land owners and land managers with assistance for the voluntary conservation of the Coachella Valley’s water, soil, air, animal and desert habitat resources.

 

Technical Conservation Support

With technical support from the Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS), the CVRCD provides local land users with numerous types of resource conservation assistance including:

  • Agricultural and urban water management
  • Watershed protection and restoration
  • Wind and water erosion control
  • Desert habitat management
  • Soil salinity management
  • Conservation outreach and education
